INCEPTION [Movie review]

• The Overall Idea: This is one big concept to tackle. The idea of our dreams and how one effects them is a risky topic to tackle because it’s endless and quite complex. Nolan makes it not only easy to understand (in terms of the story) but raises many interesting debates on “mind travel” that will leave you arguing in comment sections on blogs for weeks to come!
• The Visuals: I don’t think I need to go in depth on this one. If you’ve seen a poster, a trailer, any artwork from this film, you know you’re in for a visual treat. It’s a beautiful film to watch especially certain scenes…
• The Fred Astaire Throw Back: Absolutely amazing. In case the the “Fred Astaire” reference didn’t made sense to you, the scene I’m referring to (don’t worry it’s on posters and in the trailer) is the one with Joseph Gordan Levitt and Co. fighting in the hotel hallway — it’s a high-tech, action packed, and a direct throw back to when Fred Astaire walked up the wall for the first time and blew audiences away. Somehow Nolan has found a way to bring back that sense of wonder despite all the decades of special effects that have dulled audiences. I believe this scene was shot the good ol’ fashioned way with a rotating hallway and some wires. There is something about using camera techniques instead of CGI that is so much more fun to watch and gives the film a sense of integrity and wonder that most blockbusters wouldn’t both with.
• The Supporting Cast: This is for the Nolan new comers mostly — Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy and the rest all felt right at home in the film. They added to the acting credibility and gave us more than just one-liners. That being said, below I will talk about the problems with some of the repeat casting…
• The Attempt: Despite how big of a director Nolan is, studios want him to make what works, not take any risks or attempt something out of the box. It would have been so easy for him and he would have been so loved by both audiences and studios for jumping into another Batman right after The Dark Knight. To add to that if this movie flops it could be detrimental to the sales of the next Batman. Nolan stepped away from a guaranteed hit and took a big risk on this film by following his dream and making something reminiscent of Memento but on the studios summer-action film dime. He’s ballsy on all levels and despite what I think about his film, I have to respect his decision to make this film, his process and for the most part the outcome of Inception. It wasn’t perfect but that’s because it wasn’t safe, he took a chance and came out successful. Which leads us to…

The word geek is a slang term, noting individuals as "One who is perceived to be overly obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics, etc."^[1] Formerly, the term referred to a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken, bat, snake or bugs. The 1976 edition of the American Heritage Dictionary included only the definition regarding geek shows.
This word comes from English dialect geek, geck: fool, freak; from Low German geck, from Middle Low German. The root geck still survives in Dutch and Afrikaans gek: crazy, as well as some German dialects, and in the Alsatian word Gickeleshut: geek's hat, used in carnivals.^[2]
Although often considered as a pejorative, the term is also often used self-referentially without malice- an example is the 'Geek Squad' of the Best Buy company.
The definition of geek has changed considerably over time, and there is no longer a definitive meaning. The terms nerd, gimp, dweeb, dork, and spod have similar meanings as geek, but many choose to identify different connotations amongst these terms, although the differences are disputed. In a 2007 interview on The Colbert Report, Richard Clarke said the difference between nerds and geeks is "geeks get it done."^[3] Julie Smith defined a geek as "a bright young man turned inward, poorly socialized, who felt so little kinship with his own planet that he routinely traveled to the ones invented by his favorite authors, who thought of that secret, dreamy place his computer took him to as cyberspace—somewhere exciting, a place more real than his own life, a land he could conquer, not a drab teenager's room in his parents' house."^[4] "Geeks in suits clothing" is phrase which has been used for IT technical stars which also have knowledge about business needs.^{[citation needed]}
Other definitions include:

• A derogatory reference to a person obsessed with intellectual pursuits for their own sake, who is also deficient in most other human attributes so as to impair the person's smooth operation within society.
• A person who is interested in technology, especially computing and new media. Geeks are adept with computers, and use the term hacker in a positive way, though not all are hackers themselves.
• A person who relates academic subjects to the real world outside of academic studies; for example, using multivariate calculus to determine how they should correctly optimize the dimensions of a pan to bake a cake.
• A person who has chosen concentration rather than conformity; one who passionately pursues skill (especially technical skill) and imagination, not mainstream social acceptance.
• A person with a devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream. This could be due to the intensity, depth, or subject of their interest. This definition is very broad but because many of these interests have mainstream endorsement and acceptance, the inclusion of some genres as "geeky" is heavily debated. Persons have been labeled as or chosen to identify as physics geeks, mathematics geeks, engineering geeks, sci-fi geeks, computer geeks, various science geeks, movie and film geeks (cinephile), comic book geeks, theater geeks, history geeks, music geeks, art geeks, philosophy geeks, literature geeks, historical reenactment geeks, 2012 geeks, video game geeks, and roleplay geeks.
• A more recent school of thought sees nerd as being a derogatory phrase, whilst geek is simply a description. It is taken to be someone who is an enthusiast, often in things outside of the mainstream spectrum. It may also describe immersion in a particular mainstream interest to an extreme that is beyond normalcy (e.g. sports geek) Of note is that in this definition, there is no reference to being socially inept in the slightes

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II [Gaming Review]

While we've already seen that Darth Vader will be making his return in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, it turns out that Jedi clone Starkiller has a lot more to deal with than just the dark lord himself. LucasArts is bringing some of most beloved characters from Star Wars to the Force Unleashed universe, creating a sprawling narrative that aims to please fans and newcomers alike. Check out the video interview below for the lowdown on the new characters from assistant producer Cameron Suey and lead sound designer David Collins and then read on for our full impressions.
The Force Unleashed II picks up directly from the canonical ending of its predecessor, where Starkiller betrays Vader and attempts to take on Emperor Palpatine. Following his eventual death, Vader creates a clone of Starkiller to be his new apprentice and imprisons him on the remote planet of Kamino. It's here that the game springs to life, with a dramatic cutscene showing Starkiller breaking out of captivity and onto the rain-soaked planet.
From there, Starkiller is pursued by Vader, which leads the reluctant apprentice on a journey around the galaxy. One of the locations he visits is Cato Neimoidia, a Neimoidian pulse world that houses a luxury resort and casino. LucasArts showed us a small section of the level in action, with Starkiller unleashing his Force powers on a group of missile-launching walkers. Using the Force, he was able to grab the missiles in midair, and after a brief quick-time event, he launched them back, turning the walker into a large heap of scrap metal.
Later, he finds General Kota, who has been imprisoned in a gladiatorial arena by the evil casino owner Baron Tarko. Starkiller tries to free the general by fighting through waves of enemies in the arena, only to come face-to-face with the baron's most gargantuan monster, the gorog. The creature forms one of the many boss battles you face as you progress and one of the largest. It resembles the ravenous rancor from Return of the Jedi, only much larger. The battle against it was a multistage affair, with the pair having to avoid the gorog's stink breath as it tore up the arena. It also picked up stormtroopers and threw them in the air; they were then used as projectiles and thrown back using Force powers. After a number of hits, the creature then unleashed its fists and began destroying the platforms the pair stood on, requiring some nimble jumping skills to avoid.
After defeating the gorog, the pair escaped in the Rogue Shadow, where Kota cast doubt on Darth Vader's story. He believes that Starkiller may not actually be a clone, causing the Jedi to question his own existence. This leads him to the Dagobah system where he meets the one and only Yoda. Though we weren't told exactly what part Yoda will play in the story, we were shown a short cutscene where the Jedi master directs Starkiller to the same cave of evil that Luke Skywalker visited in The Empire Strikes Back. Another character making his way into the story is the notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett. Though not much was revealed about his part in the story, we did learn that Vader hires him to help find Starkiller; thus, he becomes one of the main enemies you must battle. LucasArts was keen to point out that a lot of effort had been put into ensuring that characters did not seem shoehorned in and that the narrative paid close attention to the time period and the extended Star Wars story.
Though we weren't able to go hands-on with any of the newly revealed locales, we did get a chance to flex our Jedi muscle in the opening stages of the game on Camino. After the introductory cutscene, we had to guide Starkiller down a giant tower after leaping from the top. We could take out obstacles, such as ledges, using Force lightning and deflect laser fire using Force push. Once at the bottom, we had to make our way through the city, fighting off stormtroopers. This allowed us to check out the tweaks made to the targeting system, which was a major criticism of the original game. It will now be much easier to see what you're locked on to because items or enemies that you've targeted will be highlighted with a glowing blue halo. The targeting priority system has also been cleaned up, and though we still found it locking onto the wrong object at times, it felt much more accurate than in the original.

Exams madness!! Notebooks hallway

In schools these days people are not concerned about studying but to get more and more marks in their respective subjects. In India in my personal opinion submitting notebooks is the majour task these days. Children get plenty of homework to do leaving with them no time to study at all. I think notebooks should be brought up in such a manner where it gets simplified and exemplified in a particular manner where they could easily grasp the notes. Not much teacher's in my school follow this. Except a few (I wont name x,y,z)
Accounts and Maths will always remain exception because these are the subjects which require practice so i cant comment on that. But what about the rest? We are given 100's of worksheets in such a less time then the pending syllabus and all the time im thinking of just worksheets and notebooks throughout the bloody day. Imagine how could we study like this?

I am never able to understand anything in my school because of this failure system which CBSE especially fails to deliver the students. Plus the school's for maintaining their reputation curse the students with horrifying questions which i am not able to do exactly and some other's too.
In 10th I remember we were indirectly told to learn each and every point (except eco) , now imagine how can it be done? In all the preboards i used to atleast fail in 2 subjects and by the time of the boards i was totally scared and was presumed that "I WILL DEFINATELY FAIL" but didnt.
So i think there must be some reforms in schools after Class X which makes studies FUN and not just a thing which has to be done and teach in such boring and monotonous way that it becomes a burden and then obviously bad marks will fetch you teacher's scolding and parents scolding's and teacher's favourate line they often tell the parents to do. "CUT OFF HIS TV/INTERNET" blah blah blah
